There's an interview with Matt and Tony up a podcast called "Emo Girl Talk". Some of the questions are kind of commonly asked but we do find out why they don't play "When You're Around" live very often anymore. It's worth a listen. Also, Saint Rock N Roll.com recently posted interview posted with Justin. In this interview he mentions that they plan to record their new record in New York in March and April and hopefully have it finished by May.

And finally, the setlist from yesterday's show in St. Paul is up now, thanks to some of the MCS boardies who went :) If anyone has anything from recent shows, please send it in! And also, don't forget to go out and get Alternative Press! It is pretty much out on all newsstands now.

There is a small Q&A with Justin in an article in the St. Paul Pioneer Press today. One of the questions was what is next for the band in 2007, and Justin's reply was "We plan to record our third record starting in late January and hope for a release in late summer. We have upwards of 20 'songs' currently and hope to sift through the crap of it all and get down to serious business soon." Read the article at the Pioneer Press's site. In an article in the Star Tribune Matt also mentioned that the band was focusing on the new album, "We're all about making the next record right now. We're still in the early stages of writing and demo-ing, but we're all really excited about it."

In other news, the Tournado tour is winding down. If you have any pictures or setlists or anything, please send them in to me. By the way, I just posted a setlist for the first date MCS was on the tour (Houston, TX).

The latest news posting on Motion City Soundtrack's official site indicates that there may be a holiday show planned for the 21st (in past years it has been in Minnesota). Interpret this as you will:

"In other news, we want to clear up some confusion regarding a show on December 21. The good news is that we WILL be playing a show SOMEWHERE in the United States on that night, but the bad news is that it WILL NOT be with the All American Rejects and Boys Like Girls in St. Louis... We unfortunately had a prior commitment on that evevning you'll learn more about in the weeks ahead... Shouldn't be that hard to figure out where we are going to be that night and what we will be doing, but stay tuned for more details regardless."

Many people have been wondering if MCS is working on a new album. The band has mentioned that they are in recent interviews and also confirms it right on their site:

Currently we're spending some quality time at home working on our next album. Sounds weird to say, but we probably won't be touring much in the months ahead, so please try to come out and catch us on the second half of the All-American Rejects tour.

The band also mentions that they have new merch that will be put up in their store today and reminds everyone that their Amsterdam concert is up for viewing online.

Motion City Soundtrack is playing in Paris tonight, and thanks to Nagwa, we should have an interview with a band member to post sometime in the next week or so. The interview was an idea I had to have an interview with questions that were not commonly asked, and also questions asked by the Motion City Soundtrack message board members. So, check back for that soon!

Tomorrow MCS will be doing a concert in Amsterdam, and FabChannel.com will be webcasting the show at 3:00pm EST (or 21:00 Central European Time). If you can't watch it then, the show should be archived for a couple of days after as well (this news is from MCS's e-mail list). Enjoy!

The setlist for last night's free show at Cornell University is now up, courtesy of Christy.

Also, the article about the Syracuse show that I posted yesterday from the Daily Orange has a misprint. The concert is only open for SU and SUNY ESF students and staff, sorry for any confusion that caused.

I found some more info about the show at Syracuse University on 9/3. It appears that it is open to students and their guests... this article states that tickets for students are $10 and that general admission is $15 (general admission is I think people who are guests of a student). It looks like the only place to buy them is on campus at the Schine Box Office. The article also states that the Starting Line and Blackalicious will be there. If anyone has any other info feel free to send me it.

In other tour news, some/most of the Tournado tour dates have been posted on Epitaph.com and so I have posted the ones on there on this site. It looks like MCS will be on the tour from 11/28-12/19. For more information, see the tourdates section. For tickets (presale) go to AAR's ticketing site at https://tixx1.artistarena.com/aar/. Once you go there, click the "Register" button and then fill out the form. It will e-mail you a username and password to use to access the presale tickets.

Lastly, In the concert archive I added some pictures for the Denver, CO Warped date and the Bristow, VA Warped date as well as a fan review for a show from February. Check it all out!

I put up a couple of new tour dates today. One is 9/30/06 in Northfield, MN at St. Olaf College. I have no info for this show other than it is posted on Epitaph.com. The other show I added is a date from the Tournado tour with the All-American Rejects which is going on sale tomorrow at 10 AM. The show is December 18 at Eastern Michigan University. See the tour dates page for all the information I have and for the AAR Tournado tour dates see their MySpace page. MCS's dates on the tour have not been confirmed, except for that Michigan date going on sale tomorrow.

There are only a few more opportunities for fans to see MCS on tour this year. They are playing a few college shows over the next 3 weeks, then heading out on a European tour, and then will be touring with the All American Rejects on their 'Tournado' tour. They will not be on that entire AAR tour, but will be on about half of it. The dates have come out, but I don't want to post anything here till I am pretty sure that it is accurate that MCS will be on it. Rumor is they will be on the second half of the tour.

I attended Warped Tour in Bristow, VA on Thursday and got the setlist. Also, Hannah donated some pictures from that show and mine will be up once I develop my film. We also have the setlist from Cleveland from yesterday and some pictures from Old Bridge, NJ and Uniondale, NY. Check it all out in the concert archive.

Also, I updated the discography a little today to include the former bands that MCS members were in. I have CDs listed in there from Slide Coaster, Champagne Kiss, and Submerge. Remember that you can vote for songs you would like to see MCS play at your Warped Tour date by visiting Atticus Clothing on MySpace! Also remember to vote for MCS in the Energizer extra 10 minutes contest-- they won for yesterday (7/29 in Detroit) so keep the votes coming!

Atticus Clothing has posted a blog on their MySpace and their Warped Tour site saying that you can vote for what songs you would like MCS to play at your Warped Tour date. All you have to do is add them as a MySpace friend and then reply to their blog or send them a message with the date and city of the show you are going to and which songs you want to vote for. I think this is a wonderful idea so make sure you vote! Check those sites for more details.
Posted July 26, 2006 8:00 am EST

Well, MCS did not get the extra 10 minutes in St. Louis yesterday, even though they had more votes than Underoath. So the voting cut off might be the day before? Not sure. More reason to keep voting as much as you can!

Thanks to Trevor for the setlist from 7/25.. check that out here. They changed it up a bit and added Shiver and Hangman and took out Better Open The Door and Make Out Kids (In my opinion... good changes.. hopefully this is a taste of things to come for the rest of Warped Tour).

I also added a review of an old show today from Nagwa for the show on February 18, 2004 in France. Check it out here.

Yay! MCS is currently in the lead for the extra 10 minutes contest for Warped Tour in St. Louis today. Hopefully they will pull through and win.

I added some pictures from Anna today, from the San Fancisco Warped date on July 8th, so check those out. Also, I updated the tour dates. The Matches have been added as support for the UK tour dates in the fall, according to their MySpace page. Also, I have come to the conclusion that the show in South Dakota in September is actually on the 7th, and I am mainly basing this on epitaph.com and Ronnie Day's MySpace page. More on that whenever information comes out. If anyone has any info on shows feel free to send it my way.

We have some new pictures up in the concert archive from the California Warped Tour dates, as well as the setlist MCS played, all courtesy of Christy (and her birthday is today by the way, so happy birthday Christy!). Today is a special day indeed as MCS have won the Energizer contest on WarpedTour.com, I believe for the first time. So today they will get an extra 10 minutes added to their set. Keep voting for them for your date! They are within about 100 for the 7/25 date, 30 for the 7/29 show, and I have been voting for 8/10 if anyone wants to help.

In other news, MCS will be supporting the All American Rejects headlining tour this fall called "Tournado." They had mentioned MCS being on the tour in an interview on Fuse about a month ago, and recently they confirmed it in an article on WWE.com. Jesse also mentioned it in an interview on shinysilverfords.com, but descibes it as a "short stint", which leads me to believe that they will be on part of the tour, but who knows. The tour lineup includes All American Rejects, Motion City Soundtrack, The Format, The Starting Line, and Gym Class Heroes.

Hey guys, I finally made some buttons and banners this weekend. So if you like this site feel free to use them (be sure you save them, do not link directly from here please) to link back. And if you need help with how to do that I will be glad to help if you just e-mail me me. The buttons and banners are found under Site using the menus at the top. Also, check out the interviews page for a couple of new interviews.

I hope everyone is enjoying the Warped tour. If you get a setlist or write it down remember to send it in! The band does signings at every date, so make sure you visit their merch tent to find out what time they will be doing a signing that day. Also, incase you didn't know, you can vote for MCS in the contest for which band gets 10 more minutes... the link for that is http://www.warpedtour.com/images/energizer2/index.html. You can only vote for one show and vote once, but I have found ways around it. If you use Netscape or Mozilla/Firefox clear your cookies and you can vote for more than one show. And usually after about an hour you can vote again for your show.

Happy 4th of July everyone. I added some links to the links page, and if you have a link you want to see there feel free to e-mail me it (fan sites, fanlistings, MySpace groups, whatever as long as it relates to the band). I updated a lot of things today, I added a bunch of fan photos and I also added some setlists and pictures to the archive, mostly old shows. Anna sent in the setlist from Warped Tour in Houston on June 30, so be sure to check that out if you want to know what they are playing. We also have pictures from that show and also pictures and setlists from the Warped shows in Columbia, MD (June 15) and Minneapolis, MN (June 18). If you aren't going to Warped Tour you should consider it! It is a lot of fun and MCS even said on their website that they will be doing a signing at every date.

Also, MCS's newest song, "The Worst Part" from the Superman Returns soundtrack is now available on iTunes for 99 cents. Be sure you download it or pick up the album! Thanks again to everyone who has sent stuff in and keep spreading the word about this site, I hope to have banners and buttons soon.

Epitaph Summer 06 SamplerIf you are going to the Warped Tour this summer, be sure to pick up an Epitaph Sampler at the Epitaph booth. The sampler is free and has "Everything is Alright" on it. It also comes with stickers. I am not sure if the same stickers are in every sampler, but mine had a MCS sticker in it, so maybe yours will too!

Cover of August 2006 issue of AP magazineAlso, MCS's very own Justin Pierre is featured on the cover of the latest (may not be out yet) Alternative Press magazine for August 2006 along with the lead singers of Armor for Sleep, The Academy Is..., and From First To Last. You can also view AP's Warped Tour site to see an article that has Justin's "top 12 records he'll be rockin' this summer."

Please e-mail me at mcmemories@gmail.com if you have any comments, have anything to contribute, or notice errors on anything (especially the concert archive!). Thanks!

As for news, Motion City Soundtrack's deluxe version of their Commit This To Memory album hit stores on June 20th. Be sure to pick it up, it comes with a DVD which has a documentary on the band, their music videos, plus a full live concert! You can get it for $14.99 at Best Buy, $12.99 at Circuit City, and $9.99 at FYE. Or, stop by their merch booth (the bright pink tent) at the Warped Tour and you should be able to pick it up there.
