Motion City Soundtrack is on the cover of the latest Alternative Press Mini-Magazine, out today exclusively in Wal-Mart stores (and walmart.com) for $5. The issue is a 2009 Review/2010 Preview Edition and features a double-sided cover with Cartel representing the best rock of 2009 and Motion City Soundtrack representing next year's new music. I have uploaded the cover image and you can see it in the photo gallery.

Rivers Cuomo, lead singer for Weezer, was injured in a bus accident this weekend. As a result, the band has cancelled the remaining December tour dates for this week. Hopefully he will get well soon, you can read about the accident on Weezer's website.

Check out mydinosaurlife.com for all of the latest on Justin's travels on the Dino Trail. There are some videos posted of stops he has made in the midwest and there is information on what cities he will be hitting up next. Alternative Press has also posted some video from his stop there, check it out on their site.

Update: The latest update on the site says Justin was in the ER last night with flu like symptoms and needs to stay out of the public for 5-7 days. So unfortunately the Dino Trail has to take a short break, I'm sure everyone understands. Get well Justin!

Justin will be making some special appearances across the country on the "dino trail". This will include meet ups, impromptu performances, in store appearances, and more. According to motioncitysoundtrack.com here is how you can keep up with where he will be...

If you're on the MCS e-mail list you got an e-mail today about three special shows they will be playing in Chicago in December. The band will play each of their albums in their entirety December 18-20 at Lincoln Hall in Chicago. On December 18th they will perform I Am The Movie, on December 19th they will perform Commit This To Memory, and on December 20th they will perform Even If It Kills Me.

Pre-sale tickets are available now. You can get tickets for all three shows for $49.99 or each individual show for $20 each. To access the pre-sale use the username 'motion' and the password 'soundtrack'.

Also, I noticed a mention in this article that there may be something also planned for Minnesota for later this month, so stay tuned.

Here's a video I took at the Virginia Tech show on Wednesday, it's of "Don't Call It A Comeback". It was kind of dark in there so I didn't take any others and barely took any pictures, but I will post the few pics I did take soon.



I have also posted setlists from the past few shows, thanks to those who sent them in. The setlist has been pretty much the same for this short stint of college shows.

MCS will be playing the St. John's University "Pinestock" concert in Collegeville, MN this Saturday, April 25th. The concert will be at Watab Island and seems to be open to the public (according to the college's events calendar). Unicycle Loves You and Mister are also playing the concert.

Thanks to Matt for e-mailing me the following info about the Kent State University show. The date of the show is actually April 30th, and the Used is headlining the show. It is an outdoor concert called FlashFest that is free and open to everyone, if it rains the concert will be moved to the M.A.C. Center. I will post more info/an article should I find it.

Motion City Soundtrack has been announced for Rutgersfest 2009 at Rutgers University on May 1. N.E.R.D, Ryan Leslie, and The N Result will also be playing. For more information see this article. I haven't been able to find any information to confirm this show, but since it is coming up I will post it here in case... according to the band The Wonder Years, they'll be playing a show at Kent State with Motion City Soundtrack on Saturday, April 18. This information is posted on their MySpace page, and that is the only information I have seen about the show.

I also found a show for Worcester, MA at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. MCS will be playing with Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer on Sunday, April 19th. Tickets are available at the SocComm Office and are $5 for students and $25 for the general public. Check out SocComm's site for more info.

In other news, Mark Hoppus has posted a temporary track listing for the new MCS album over at pickrset.com. Those are just song titles so I don't know if anyone cares, but thought it might be worth posting... looks like they are making good progress on the new album!

Motion City Soundtrack will be playing a concert on Wednesday, April 29 at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA in the Commonwealth Ballroom of Squires Student Center. Doors are at 7pm and the show is at 7:30. Dear Future will open the show. Tickets are $12 for students and $16 for the public. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. MCS will be playing the Sun God Festival at the University of California, San Diego on May 15th. Some of the other bands on the lineup are N.E.R.D., Iron and Wine, Sara Bareilles, Augustana, and the Cool Kids. The concert is free for undergrads and $40 for guests of students (the tickets go on sale April 13th at the UCSD box office and are limited to 2 per student). Motion City Soundtrack will be playing Spring Fest '09 at the University of Texas Arlington on March 28th. The concert site says that Space Cadet, They Were Stars, and the Brandon Steadman band will also be playing. There is no information on tickets that I can find, but from looking at the site it is probably free, at least to students. If I find more information I will post it.

And by the way, Tony will not be drumming at the upcoming concerts because he broke his arm recently. You can read about it in the MCS Tumblr blog. Get well soon Tony!

I saw this posted on the MCS message board and thought some others might be interested... Jesse is selling his record collection and if you are interested check out the auctions on ebay. He is donating 10% percent of the profits to the Dear Jack Foundation started by Andrew McMahon (of Jack's Mannequin) for cancer research.

In other news, I recently found out Motion City Soundtrack has joined up with the Trojan Evolve campaign. They told me that MCS hasn't made their own video, but it's a good cause so I want to link y'all up to the videos they currently have for other artists.
